Question: wish oak
hi everyone, I'm a young bonsai enthusiast. I have read too many books on them but nobody will give me the satisfaction of a statement from experts like you so here is my question: in the courtyard of my school I took an oak seed I did some research and I saw that it is an oak from cork the seed is ripe and I would like somebody to explain to me how much water I need if I plant it in this month so cold and the care I must have on the plant.
please reply as soon as possible. thanks in advance.
Answer: wish oak
to sow an acorn you must use a mixture of sand and peat in equal parts, to put in a small pot, with saucer and wet well. In fact, not all acorns sprout easily; it would be a good idea to first put the acorn in a plastic bag with little sand and put it in the refrigerator for about a couple of weeks, so that the acorn understands that it is winter. Then take your acorn and place it just underground in the soil prepared as above, without burying it. Keep the pot outdoors, in a ventilated and shady place, and hope that your acorn is still "alive", and therefore it will sprout. When the bud has a few leaves, transfer it to a small pot with universal potting soil, and grow it for a few years before thinking about how to get bonsai.
