Question: Curl of hydrangea leaves
I would like to know what may be causing the curling and irregular shape of the hydrangea leaves since the bud opens. Thanks
Curled hydrangea leaves: Answer: Curl of the hydrangea leaves
not seeing the photo it is a bit difficult to make a diagnosis. The crumpling can be caused by a lack of water or, being also affected the gem, by insect bites, called Miridi, (for example Lygus rugulipennis and Lygocoris pabulinus), green or brown of about 6 mm, which sting the apices of the buds to suck the sap. During this operation they introduce their saliva which is toxic to the plant and kills the tissues, deforming them.
In this case, I recommend removing plant debris and at the first symptoms treat with insecticides based on dimethoate, phenitrotion or natural pyrethrum.
In any case, water regularly and give specific hydrangea fertilizer.
